With the implementation of the new Royal Decree 487/2022, we are supported by the UNE 100030 Standard (Prevention and control of the proliferation and dissemination of Legionella in facilities), which was updated in October 2023. This standard becomes a fundamental pillar to carry out an accurate risk assessment, an essential element for the development of an adequate Legionella Prevention Plan.

The UNE 100030 Standard, updated with the latest guidelines and protocols, provides a detailed and updated framework to address the prevention and control of the spread of Legionella bacteria in facilities. This update ensures that the recommended practices and procedures are aligned with the latest standards in the field, guaranteeing greater effectiveness in the management of risks associated with it.

The use of this standard by GRINS and other entities involved in Legionella prevention is a significant step toward improving safety and protecting public health. By adopting an approach based on best practices and updated guidelines, the ability to identify, assess and mitigate the risks of Legionella contamination in a wide variety of facilities is strengthened.
